The company led by Mark Zuckerberg presented its 'chatbot' type assistant in September of last year, when it detailed that it is a technology based on the Llama 2 model, with capabilities to access information in real time, in addition to interact with natural language through the different technology services and devices, including WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger.

Recently, Meta has started testing its Meta AI 'chatbot' on WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger with some users in India, the United States and African countries.

Now, along with the launch of its new open source LLM model Llama 3, that drives this assistant, the technology has begun to implement Meta AI on the Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger platforms at a global level, adding new capabilities.

As detailed in a statement on his blogwith the latest advances presented by Llama 3, Meta AI is “smarter, faster and more fun than ever”, and has even called it “one of the world's leading AI assistants” with free access.

At a general level, users will be able to use Meta AI to request information on issues such as restaurant recommendations, leisure plans, or explanations on specific topics to, for example, help with study.

Thus, users will be able access Meta AI features directly from any company social network, whether from Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp or Messenger. However, in order to provide an option for use on the computer, the company has also released a web version of the wizardwhich can be accessed from meta.ai and that will offer a interaction in 'chatbot' format.

META AI INTEGRATION IN WHATSAPP, INSTAGRAM, FACEBOOK AND MESSENGER

Meta AI offers facilities in social networks such as the ability to access real-time information from across the web “without having to switch between applications.”

In this way, users can use Meta AI search to ask any question, for example, the recipe for a cake from a Messenger group chat, and the assistant will send a response with the steps to follow and the ingredients, along with a link to the website from which they obtained the information.

Users can request additional information by continuing the conversation with the chatbot, such as, for example, a video of the recipe mentioned above. All of this from any applicationwhether WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook or Messenger.

Another novelty presented by the integration of Meta AI in the company's social networks is the access to the assistant through the 'feed'. With this option, users can request information related to publications that appear on their social networks, directly from the 'feed'.

Specific, Meta AI will suggest related queries with the publication about which you want to obtain more information, such as, in the case of content related to music, popular songs of the style, tips for playing an instrument or information about an artist.

Simply choose one of these suggested options, or select the 'ask Meta AI' option, to display a chat window from which to consult the assistant.

At the moment, the Meta AI assistant and all its functions have started to be released. implemented in English in more than a dozen countries, including the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and Uganda, among others.

GENERATE IMAGES WITH META AI IMAGINE

The technology company has also announced the Meta AI's new Imagine featurewith which users can generate images from text in real time directly from WhatsApp.

As explained by Meta, this tool will begin to show an image generated by the assistant when the user begins to write the word 'Imagine' in the usual WhatsApp message bar.

The image will be modified “every few letters written” based on the text that is written with the descriptions. After generating an image, the new Meta AI function in WhatsApp It will also allow you to animate it, for example, turning it into a GIF.

The company has detailed that the images generated will be “sharp and quality”. In addition, the ability to include text in images and even the function will provide helpful prompts with ideas for changing the image. “Meta AI can generate images that bring your vision to life faster and better than ever,” the technology company stated.

At the moment, the ability to generate images is a feature that the company has begun to implement in the beta version of the instant messaging 'app' for users in the United States.
