Mercado reacted positively to the appointment of Diego Guevara as the new Minhacienda

The Colcap index, the main indicator of the Colombian Stock Exchange (BVC), in which the most liquid stocks in the local market are gathered, reacted upwards this Thursday, after the appointment of Diego Guevara as the new Minister of Finance, after the resignation of Ricardo Bonilla.

According to the daily report of the BVC, the MSCI Colcap rose 0.79% and was traded at 1,394.57
points.

For its part, the COLSC fell 0.34%, while the COLIR and the COLEQTY gained 0.71%
and 0.65, respectively.

On the previous day, President Gustavo Petro asked the Minister of Finance, Ricardo Bonilla, to resign due to alleged involvement in corruption schemes..

However, Diego Guevara, who has been the deputy general minister, was named to replace Bonilla and will be the new Minister of Finance, a situation that did not alter the market.
