Meet Your Maker is set in a post-apocalyptic world where you have to guard or try to get hold of the Chimera, a living experiment created as a last resort to save life on Earth. Both builders and raiders have at their disposal a series of tools to fulfill their mission.
Builders will design outposts, hide traps designed to lure, trick, and eliminate players trying to cross, and set up customizable wards with paths. Behavior Interactive’s advice is to build little by little. First a basic structure, then the traps and guards and finally the cosmetic elements. Keep in mind at all times that the invaders must leave with the loot, so the maze must be designed in such a way that entering is as difficult as escaping.
The creations can be tested by the designer himself and once finished shared with the community. The gameplay is asynchronous and there is a replay system that allows you to discover how the players have faced the challenge. In case of finding bugs or if the challenge has been overcome, it will be time to modify the design to make it more lethal.
For their part, the raiders will have a series of consumables, including speed boosts, deployable shields and respawn beacons, which will help them overcome the positions that the players have designed. They will also be equipped with a hook that provides mobility. During the assault, keep an eye out for the visual and audio signals of the traps to react quickly, and keep in mind that some traps and guards only activate after you have obtained the Chimera’s genetic material. Both the construction and the assaults have a cooperative mode for two players.
Meet Your Maker is accompanied by a content roadmap that spans from April to June. To begin with, on April 18 the Hellscape deco pack will arrive for free, which includes construction materials that add a new aesthetic. Over the months, modifiers and buffs will also be added to existing traps and wards that can be unlocked with game time. At the end of June the first major content update will debut with a new free environment.
