The former Russian president and current vice president of the country’s Security Council, Dimitri Medvedev, stated this Saturday that the Russian invasion of Ukraine will end if NATO countries “stop fueling the war.”

Thus, he noted that “if the NATO bloc adopts a real stance on the ground, if it stops fanning the flames of war in Ukraine, this conflict can end without costs for humanity or at least without additional costs,” he noted. stated during an interview with the Al Arabiya television network.

In this sense, he has defended that Russia does not want to use nuclear weapons and has asserted that it is an “extreme” decision. “We will proceed based on the provisions of the nuclear doctrine ratified by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin,” he added.

“The decision, of course, is that of the president of the country. The risks are high, but this does not mean that they are irreversible,” he declared before stating that NATO countries are already involved in the war by allowing the use of its missiles by Ukraine to attack areas of Russia, such as Kursk or Bryansk.

“This continues to change the course of the fighting and what is happening, as it shows that the NATO bloc, the United States and other members of this alliance, in essence, have entered not into a hybrid war, but into a war against our country,” said Medvedev, who warned that this could have long-term consequences.
