In fact, a few days ago the specialized technology medium, CNET, received multiple criticisms for using this tool in its articles on financial advice and not clarifying that it had used it, since errors were even found in more than half of the articles it wrote. Faced with this controversy, the company decided to stop its use.
Blogs written with generative AI
On another side of the conversation, the blogging platform, Medium, announced that they are happy to receive texts generated through generative artificial intelligences. “We welcome the responsible use of AI assistive technology on Medium,” said VP of Content Scott Lamb.
But what does “responsible use” mean? According to Lamb, to use these tools transparency is required and for this reason any story created with the assistance of an AI must be “clearly labeled as such, in addition to the fact that its approach may vary as technology does.
“We believe that creating a culture of disclosure, where the shared expectation of good citizenship is for AI-generated content to be disclosed, empowers readers. It allows them to choose their own reaction and commitment to this type of work and clearly understand whether a story is written by a machine or by a human,” Lamb wrote.
