Square Enix launched for all consoles (PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and PC) in 2020 the triple A title “Marvel’s Avengers”. Of course, the video game took advantage of the popularity of the Avengers movies to bring a new story to consoles.
Little by little, in the different updates and DLCs or downloadables, the developer company enabled new characters in the superhero team. The last to join will be Bucky Barnes or the Winter Soldier.
The best friend of Steve Rogers or Captain America comes to the video game right after Jane Foster, who also debuted as Mighty Thor in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 movies.
The update can be downloaded from November 29 of this year. As detailed by the developer, the character will have its own skill tree that you can unlock with progression points.

Winter Soldier
Scott Porter joins our expanding cast of Avengers as Cap’s old partner: James Buchanan ‘Bucky’ Barnes, the Winter Soldier, who has escaped captivity and reunited with his friends and allies. Scott is well known for Friday Night Lights, Hart of Dixie, Ultimate Spider-Man, Avengers Assemble, and reprises the role of Bucky from Lego Marvel’s Avengers. We can’t wait for you to see his take on The Winter Soldier, and first hear his work in our upcoming Winter Soldier motion comic.
The product of a Soviet noir science show, The Winter Soldier emerged as a master assassin. Adds to the list a hero focused almost exclusively on assault focused on dealing damage to his enemies in a variety of ways. Players will find multiple different builds and playstyles to embody that character’s fantasy, from ranged shooters to expert melee combatants to deadly super soldiers.
While echoes of Bucky’s previous sparring partners such as Captain America and Black Widow can be seen in some of his movesets, he has made them his own and combined them with abilities that stem from his indoctrination as a Soldier of Winter and its cybernetic improvements. Players will find all new animations, a whole new skill tree, and heroic abilities of their own when they go on a mission as the Winter Soldier.
Winter Soldier will also launch with his own chain of heroic missions as the Avengers help him regain confidence in his ability to do good and deal with the trauma inflicted on him by his captors. Players who complete the quest chain will be rewarded with Bucky’s iconic outfit.
