Manufacturing production increased 9.1% in August compared to 2021

In August, the production of the country’s manufacturing industries saw an increase of 9.1% compared to the figures for the same month of 2021,

Of the 39 industrial activities represented by the survey, a total of 33 registered positive variations in their real production, adding 10.1 percentage points to the total annual variation.

Among these, the greatest variations occurred in the manufacture of motor vehicles, which registered an annual increase of 57.1%; in the manufacture of parts and auto parts, with an increase of 32.9% in its production, and printing activities also stand out (32.1%); the manufacture of glass products (27.8%) and the manufacture of clothing (30.7%).

Also according to Dane, a positive variation of 7.7% in real sales and 4.3% in employed personnel was reported.

By region, Risaralda was the one that presented the greatest expansion in its production during August 2022, compared to August 2021, with a variation of 23.6%, followed by Córdoba (22.2%) and Atlántico (17. two%).

In the year to August 2022, on the other hand, the real production of the manufacturing industry presented a variation of 14.5%, real sales of 13.7% and employed personnel of 4.9%.
