Aug. 14 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Mali’s transitional prime minister, Choguel Maiga, will be on “forced rest”, according to the recommendations of his personal doctor.
“After 14 months of tireless work, the prime minister, the head of government Choguel Kokalla Maiga, has been put on forced rest by his doctor,” the office of the Presidency has indicated on its Facebook social network account in the Saturday night.
However, the authorities have not provided further details on the state of health of the prime minister.
Thus, the letter has indicated that Maiga will resume its activities next week.
The prime minister would have suffered a stroke, as several sources have been able to indicate to the magazine Jeune Afrique, an aspect that has not been confirmed by the prime minister’s office.
Maiga was appointed prime minister in June last year, after the country’s president, Assimi Goita, announced his appointment through a decree, after the coup in the African country.
