Madrid in Game promotes a challenge to develop a video game in 48 hours

July 10 (Portaltic/EP) –

Madrid in Game has launched a 48-hour development marathon with the aim of gathering talent and creating a video game in record time, with the first edition of ‘Madrid in Game Hack Jams’.

This initiative of the Madrid City Council was born under the motto ‘Transforming Madrid beyond the video game’ and with the commitment to encourage, empower and educate in the ‘gaming’ industry.

Specifically, ‘Madrid in game Hack Jams’ will begin on July 14 at the Video Game Campus Experience Center, where participants will be summoned to reveal a common global theme.

Once known, the developers must work to create a game in the next 48 hours. In addition, once the countdown has started, the teams will move to the Development Centerwhere they will have to demonstrate their skills and abilities by shaping their ideas.

The organization hopes that, with this experience, the participants will acquire real professional capacity and that they will also gain visibility within the ‘gamer’ ecosystem and expand their ‘portfolio’.

In this day of design, music, programming, storytelling and creativity, participants will also be able to access mentoring and networking sessions with professionals to share experiences, knowledge and establish synergies.

After 48 hours, the games will be presented to a jury that will assess the work and give its verdict to designate who are the winners in the categories of design, art and gameplay.

Once ‘Madrid in Game Hack Jams’ is over, players will be able to test the titles on their PC. To participate, they must register for free through the Madrid in Game portal until this Monday, July 10. The only requirement is to be of legal age.
