The President of France, Emmanuel Macron, and the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohamed bin Salmán, held a telephone conversation this Wednesday in which they congratulated each other on the agreement to sell 105 Airbus aircraft to the Arab country.
“Bin Salmán and Macron have exchanged congratulations on the agreement signed between Saudi Arabia and Airbus to acquire 105 aircraft,” the Saudi Foreign Ministry published on its X social network account.
At the beginning of the week, the Airbus company announced in a statement an agreement with Saudi Arabia for the purchase of 105 commercial aircraft of the ‘A320neo family’ type.
OPPOSITION TO ISRAELI OFFENSIVE ON RAFÁ
In addition, both have talked about the “catastrophic humanitarian situation” in the Gaza Strip, reiterating their opposition to the Israeli offensive on Rafah, in the south of the Palestinian enclave.
In fact, they have insisted on the need for an “immediate and lasting” ceasefire to protect the civilian population and to ensure the “massive” shipment of humanitarian aid, which is why they have asked for the reopening of all land crossings.
Macron, for his part, has once again called for the release of all the hostages remaining in the hands of the Palestinian militias, among whom there are three French citizens, according to a statement from the French Presidency.
In the face of an end to the conflict and greater regional stability, both parties have agreed to continue working to achieve “effective implementation” of the two-state solution.
