Lukashenko and Xi advocate joining forces to achieve peace in Ukraine

March 4 (EUROPA PRESS) –

Chinese President Xi Jinping and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, recently visiting Beijing, expressed their intention to join forces to achieve peace in Ukraine, according to a Belarusian diplomat.

“The leaders have underlined the need to join efforts and continue working to influence this conflict so that the parties move towards a peaceful debate and the search for favorable solutions for themselves and for the whole world,” explained the Belarusian ambassador to China, Yuri Senko, in statements to Belarus-1 TV, collected by the Russian news agency TASS.

Senko has highlighted that Lukashenko, who returned to Belarus on Thursday, said in statements to the Chinese media that it is necessary to listen to the voice of China to achieve a solution to the conflict in Ukraine.

“It is advisable to listen to everyone, both those involved in the conflict and all the countries that are still not aware of the problem and its consequences, which affect the entire world,” he added.

Lukashenko paid an official visit to China between February 28 and March 2. The Belarusian leader met with Xi and they released a joint statement on the bilateral “strategic partnership” and the need to achieve peace in Ukraine, prevent an escalation of the conflict and coordinate their efforts.
