CoDi is a payment method that uses QR and Dimo is the payment method in which you only need the cell phone number to send money.

Tortilla shop owners will receive the money in their Finsus app, which they must download on their mobile phone and will also be able to receive payments for telephone, electricity and telephone top-ups.

In order for tortille shop owners to be able to accept card payments, they must have a phone with NFC technology. In this first stage, only contactless cards will be allowed to pay in these establishments.

By adopting Finsus, tortilla makers will be able to access an account with an annual yield of 10.06%, in addition to other savings and investment products such as term investments that offer annual yields of up to 15%.

With the payment of services, the owners of the tortilla shops will receive a commission of one or two pesos per receipt, so Finsus will subsidize these commissions for a time. The idea, says Carlos Marmolejo, director of Finsus, is to achieve banking access to more people and not just charge for the app’s functionalities.

Tortillerias are the second largest economic sector in Mexico City, according to Fadlala Akabani, Mexico City’s Secretary of Economic Development.

The digitalization program for tortilla factories will gradually be extended to the rest of the country, where it is estimated that there are up to 135,000 establishments.
