Little Rascals star Bug Hall faces criticism for calling his newborn son his “heir” and his daughters “dishwashers”

Little Rascals star Brandon “Bug” Hall is facing backlash after joking that his newborn son will be his “heir” and his older daughters were described as “dishwashers.”

Hall, who played Alfalfa Switzer in the 1994 film, sparked outrage among fans when she announced the birth of her fifth child and first son, Mark Athanasius Chad Anthony Hall-Barnett, on Tuesday.

The actor responded to users who pointed out that he already has four daughters and wrote: “I said heir, not dishwasher.”

“I pray that God protects those precious little girls from your toxicity and projected self-loathing until they are old enough to disown you,” one user wrote on X.

The star defended his joke to critics who flooded his celebratory post, saying he and his wife Jill shared a “good laugh” over the comment.

“I made the same joke to my wife when she was in labor. We both laughed a lot. As hard as it is for you to understand, most normal people are still rich in humor and joy. Keep being miserable, you grumpy guy,” he wrote to one person who suggested his wife divorce him for his comments.

Hall also responded to someone who asked why her newborn son has a hyphen in his name.

“Before I got married, I legally adopted my stepfather’s last name, because I wanted to honor him by naming my family after him. He’s a great man who raised me since I was a little boy. At the time, I didn’t think it was a good idea to get rid of my professional name, hence the hyphen,” Hall responded.

In his X profile, Hall describes himself as a “patriarch of five ladies,” a “medieval moralist,” and a “patriot.”

He and Jill married in February 2017.

After rising to fame as a child star in the 1990s after “The Little Rascals,” Hall went on to do voiceover work on the animated film “Hercules” and acted most recently in episodes of shows like “Castle” and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.”

His last credit in the entertainment industry was in 2020, the same year he was arrested in Weatherford, Texas, over Father’s Day weekend for allegedly inhaling an air-cleaning spray.
