Liam Payne had alcohol, cocaine and an antidepressant in his system before his death, prosecutors say

() –– Former One Direction member Liam Payne had alcohol, cocaine and a prescription antidepressant in his system before his death, according to a statement Thursday from Argentina’s National Criminal and Correctional Prosecutor’s Office that cited the results of toxicology tests.

The prosecution said that medical examinations confirmed that the singer’s injuries were “compatible with those caused by falls from a height.” The office added that the examinations ruled out self-inflicted injuries or the intervention of other people.

The examinations also indicated that Payne did not “adopt a reflex posture to protect himself from the fall so, for the moment, it can be inferred that he may have fallen into a state of semi or total unconsciousness.”

In addition, three people have already been charged in Argentina for crimes related to his death.

The British pop star, who was 31, died on October 16 after falling from the third floor of a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
