Starting with the largest of all, the LG UltraGear 49GR85DC is a majestic 49-inch “5K” monitor and ultrawide format. At 1.2 meters wide and in a 32:9 format, it threatens to slip off the sides of not a few desks despite its curvature.
Going down to a more technical level, we are talking about a VA panel of 5120 × 1440 pixel resolution with a base brightness of 450 cd/m3 and peaks of 1,000 cd/m2 (approved as DisplayHDR 1000), variable refresh rate at 240 Hz (FreeSync Premium Pro), response time of 1 ms and high consumption, with a maximum of 240 W due to its size and brightness.
Other features to highlight include the presence of two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4 and the typical PiP modes to display two video sources simultaneously.
For now it has no known price (in fact, it has not even been a press release; it has simply appeared on the website), although computer base venture a fee close to 1,000 euros.
At the other extreme we find the new LG UltraGear 25GR75FG-B, a monitor with a fairly traditional size but with cutting-edge performance thanks to the use of a 24.5-inch IPS panel at 360 Hz. As usual in screens with refresh rates that exceed 240 Hz, has Full HD resolution to improve its use. It’s also a G-Sync model, so it supports Nvidia’s latency and blur reduction technologies.
The rest of the data sheet includes a GtG response time of 1 ms, support for DisplayHDR 400, a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4, as well as the usual USB for accessories.
Officially announced in mid-January for the League of Legends EMEA Championship 2023, the LG UltraGear 25GR75FG-B now arrives in Europe with a starting price of 689 euros.
