LG has shared its new ‘LG AI Home’ devices and solutions with which it pursues a home of the future capable of adapting to the needs and lifestyles of users, placing the new LG ThinQ ON smart hub at the center of the ecosystem.
Under the motto ‘Experience, Affectionate Intelligence (AI) Home’, LG has participated in IFA 2024 in Berlin to showcase its full range of smart solutions that create a connected and personalized space for any lifestyle.
In this sense, as LG has tried to reflect in its passage through the fair, through an experiential tour in its ‘stand’, the central axis of its smart home LG AI Home is its new ‘hub’ in the form of the LG ThinQ ON device, which uses affective intelligence – the company’s empathetic intelligent technology – to facilitate personalized use of connected appliances and devices.
ThinQ ON integrates with LG home appliances using AI, creating a complete hub through LG AI Home Solution. It is also a system capable of learning users’ routines, preferences and behaviors over time, creating a more personalized experience.
The device can also understand natural language and can control a wide range of home appliances, IoT devices and services using conversational voice commands.
The ultimate goal of all this is for LG’s smart home solutions to allow users to “experience the ease of the ‘Zero Labor Home'” that seeks to guarantee “the enjoyment of a life free of daily household chores,” as explained by the president of LG Electronics Home Appliance & Air Solution Company, Lyu Jae-cheol.
PERSONALIZED HOME FOR ELDERLY, CHILDREN AND PETS
In the area called ‘Second Youth Home’, LG has shown how this LG AI Home system can improve the lives of older people, making it easier to do household chores.
With ThinQ ON and its conversational voice recognition, it can autonomously manage any household task, for example, automatically setting the dryer to start when the washing machine finishes its wash cycle.
Along these lines, in relation to families with children or pets, the autonomous hub also has smart solutions designed to adapt to these cases. For example, the autonomous hub is able to control the sensors of connected appliances, adjusting the settings of the devices and the environmental conditions to meet the needs of children.
This AI Home solution can also activate Sleep Mode when children go to sleep, helping them fall asleep. It can also be used as a learning support tool, as it has generative AI functions capable of creating stories from children’s drawings.
For households with pets, the AI Home solution helps keep the house looking after by taking care of things like fresh air and clean floors automatically. This is possible by using devices like the LG PuriCare Alpha Pet Double air purifier, as well as the DUACOOL air conditioner, connected to ThinQ ON.
Another of the new products that LG has shown for pets is its new appliance designed especially for cats, LG AeroCat, which combines a bed for these animals with an air purifier that refreshes and cares for their environment.
SMART KITCHENS AND SMART GREEN HOME
Along these lines, in the ‘Delightful Home’ area LG has also allowed visitors to experience how ThinQ ON interacts with users, providing them with personalized recipe recommendations, as well as a complete nutritional analysis.
In this section, the company has unveiled its smart ovens, as well as the InstaView refrigerator with MoodUP, which blends into the environment through its LED panels.
LG’s Smart Green Home area, meanwhile, is based on a self-sufficient home that features highly efficient appliances, including the Therma V R290 Monobloc aerothermal solution and a state-of-the-art heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system.
With these solutions and ThinQ ON, LG is able to optimize home energy use in real time by adjusting device settings and usage schedules based on users’ lifestyles and routines.
LG has also highlighted the hub’s ability to act as the core of various IoT ecosystems, through devices such as motion and light sensors, temperature and humidity sensors and other smart options.
In addition to all this, LG has also included in its stand examples of how the company’s smart and open ecosystem integrates services from other brands to “enrich the customer experience” and demonstrate the versatility of its IoT sensors.
“The sheer number of LG devices on display at IFA demonstrates the scalability of its smart solutions, allowing visitors to realistically experience the smart living environment the company is creating,” LG said.
