The NFT sector in the world of televisions has gained a new ally, LG, who will allow the sale of these non-fungible tokens on its platform.
It seemed that the NFT sector was in the doldrums and it certainly is, however, there are many large companies that continue to bet on them and begin to integrate them.
In the field of televisions, if we remember, Samsung recently announced that, together with the Nifty Gateway NFT platform, they had partnered to buy NFTs and enjoy them on the screen of the new Samsung televisions for this 2022.
To make a small point, surely you already know what an NFT is, because it has been on everyone’s lips in recent times, although if you still do not have it very clear, we leave you linked to this report.
As for what concerns us today, and according to TheVerge, this market has gained a new ally, LG and his new company created for the occasion, called LG Art Lab, which will allow “buy, sell and enjoy high-quality digital artwork” from the TV.
Their association with the Hedera network seeks to offer an app that allows users to purchase NFTs through Wallypto, LG’s crypto wallet for smartphones. This network does not operate on the blockchain, but instead uses an alternative to the blockchain, called a hashgraph. They claim that it is faster and more efficient than transactions on the blockchain.
The announcement takes place approx. eight months later after LG Electronics said at its press conference that it plans to incorporate NFT features into its smart TV. The platform is now available in the US only for those who have an LG TV with webOS 5.0 or later and is accessible directly from the home screen.
through the gate, digital works available through LG’s NFT drops can be bought and sold. The first of these releases is scheduled for September 22 and features a set of metallic-looking NFTs from sculptor Barry X Ball.
