LG inaugurates its new self-sufficient home Hanok House and maintains its commitment to the future of the Smart Green movement

LG has inaugurated its new Hanok House, a construction carbon neutral and with Artificial Intelligence (AI), which has been renewed to continue betting on the Smart Green movement of the company in Spain and develop new initiatives to stop climate change.

The technology company has opened the doors of its new home at an event with the press in Madrid where it has presented it as a space sustainable designed according to the traditional South Korean architectural style which, in addition, houses the advances and sustainability projects that the company is currently working on in Spain.

The meeting included CEO and president of LG Spain, Jaime de Jaraízwho has put on the table how climate emergency “is a reality that cannot wait.” An example of this is that, today, the effects of CO2 concentration are irreversible, exceeding the 424 parts per millionwhich is equivalent to a climate similar to that of 3 million years ago.

The last time these figures were present in the atmosphere, the global temperature was between 2 and 5 degrees warmer and sea level was 20 meters higher. With this, it must be taken into account that more than 50 percent of CO2 emissions have occurred in the last 30 years.

To confront this situation and stop climate change, LG has the Smart Green Movementwhich was created in Spain in 2017 and is currently based on the Sustainability 2.0whose objective is look for solutions to recover ecosystems from an action point of view.

Thus, as de Jaraíz explained, the LG concept places the focus of the solution to the problem of climate change on the individual and invites companies and public organizations to promote projects that have a real impact on the environment, taking responsibility for them from start to finish and mobilizing the participation of the rest of society.

THE NEW HANOK HOUSE

Within the framework of its commitment to sustainability 2.0 and the Smart Green movement, the company has inaugurated its new home Hanok House by the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Spain, Bahk Sahnghoon.

Specifically, the Hanok House, designed with the traditional Korean architectural style, is the reflection of the LG Smart Green philosophy, since it is self-sufficient, connected and sustainable supply. Furthermore, it is a construction that “demonstrates the power of technology and innovation”, as it allows the creation of products that help users live better and more sustainably.

This house is capable of storing, saving, producing and sharing clean energy. For this, it is equipped with the latest technological advancesboth inside and outside, including solutions for aerothermal and air conditioningas well as high efficiency appliances that facilitate domestic supply through clean energy.

Likewise, as de Jaraíz has highlighted, the Hanok House is a setting to foster alliances, since it has been designed to welcome all sectors of society, companies and institutions, that want to contribute with actions for the Smart Green Movement.

CAREER OF SMART GREEN SPAIN

The LG manager has carried out a review of all the evolution and achievements achieved thanks to the Smart Green Movement in Spain which, in the course of its development, has mainly focused on three fields of action that have had the involvement of companies , public institutions and individuals.

On the one hand, it has developed all the evolution that the project has entailed Smart Green Trees, which began with the objective of planting “hundreds of trees” in Las Rozas (Madrid) and has escalated to the point of planting 48 million trees every year, approximately one for every inhabitant in Spain.

They are also carrying out the initiative Smart Green Beeswhose objective is repopulate 48 million Iberian bees every yeara species native to the Iberian Peninsula and which is the only one that can pollinate all types of plants that exist in this territory.

Finally, the CEO has referred to the project Smart Green Seasan initiative with which they work to recover the Mediterranean Sea thanks to the care of the Posidonia Oceanica, an algae that is capable of absorbing and retaining up to 40 times more CO2 than a hectare of Mediterranean forest and up to 16 times more than the Amazon.

According to Jaraíz, all these initiatives have in common “remove actions and raise awareness”. That is, the objective is not just to plant trees, but to “attract all the people who can do something and start doing it.” With this point of view, the company assures that it can create real, large-scale impact in the fight against climate change.

With all this, the technology company has announced that, with the new Hanok House, it hopes “continue adding allies” to the common initiative of creating a better and more sustainable future through ecosystem regeneration and action. In fact, the event has also been attended by various personalities who have already been part of the Smart Green initiatives, including mayors of nearby municipalities, and CEOs of relevant companies on the national scene, such as DKV, Hyundai or KIA. .
