Lenovo targets businesses with its new 'all-in-one' ThinkReality VRX viewer

lenovo today introduced the new ‘all-in-one’ virtual reality (VR) glasses, ThinkReality VRXwith six degrees of freedom (6DoF) and mixed reality capabilities for immersive training, collaboration and 3D design.

The ThinkReality VRX viewer has been designed for use in enterprise virtual environmentsand incorporate the ThinkReality software platform, with which IT and operations departments can deploy, configure and manage VR devices at scale.

Lenovo’s new device runs on content of six or three degrees of freedom and as a device stand-alone or connected to a computer or workstation to broadcast experiences.

It is also able to use cloud-based rendering solutionssuch as Nvidia CloudXR for graphics-intensive experiences that require high-end GPU-based performance, as the company notes in a statement.

Lenovo ThinkReality VRX is backed by a full suite of end-to-end services, from consulting and content creation to cloud deployment and customer support, to help organizations succeed in the new realities of the business environment.

The company has chosen the Snapdragon XR platform and the pancake glasses and its slim format, which reduce the overall profile of the helmet, and has placed the battery in an optimal position to improve weight distribution and balance. It’s also made with materials that are easy to clean between uses.

four cameras front-mounted cameras provide 6DoF tracking, as well as two high-resolution, full-color pass-through cameras. Pass-through technology also offers mixed reality appwhich allows you to overlay 3D graphics on the real world.

ThinkReality VRX is scheduled for general release in select global markets beginning in early 2023.
