Lenovo inaugurates a cybersecurity innovation center in cooperation with Ben-Gurion University

22 Feb. (Portaltic/EP) –

Lenovo has launched a cybersecurity innovation center (LCIC) in collaboration with the Cybersecurity Research Center of Ben-Gurion University of the Negeva reference institution in the cybersecurity sector based in Israel.

The new center will study innovation in architecture zero-trust hardware (‘zero-trust’) and the security underlying operating systems, in addition to acting as a node for the development of new generations of security solutions.

The LCIC, for its part, offers Lenovo customers a test lab, access to knowledge of the sector and the possibility of exchanging information through an ‘in situ’ communication center, as reported by the technology company in a press release.

The variety and severity of cyberthreats is increasing, as hackers employ more sophisticated tools on a growing threat in computing solutions operated by businesses, governments and consumers. Therefore, threat surveillance and assessment, in combination with investigation and reporting by LCIC cybersecurity professionals, will facilitate more strategic and effective responses.

From Lenovo they have highlighted that Israel is an international benchmark in the cybersecurity sector and Be’er Sheva is the headquarters of numerous cybersecurity R&D centers of various global technology companies. Recruitment and management of the new LCIC will be carried out in coordination with cybersecurity experts from Lenovo and Ben-Gurion University.

Solutions developed at LCIC will be incorporated into ThinkShieldLenovo’s portfolio of hardware, software, and services that provide advanced solutions in the form of integrated platform security and device protection, data protection from threats, and security management tools that help protect critical information for business.
