Lenovo bets on a ThinkBook Plus laptop with rotating screen and additional color electronic ink panel

Lenovo has announced a new ThinkBook laptop that features a rotating panel, with an OLED display on one side and a colorful E-Ink display on the other, performance sustained by 13th-grade processors. Intel Core generation.

The company has unveiled the ThinkBook Plus Twist within the framework of CES 2023, held these days in Las Vegas (United States), where it has also detailed the specifications of the new Lenovo Legion 7 and 7i laptops and the new Yoga Book 9i with dual screen.

ThinkBook Plus Twist it is a versatile ‘gadget’ that can be configured in different formats, be it clamshell or tablet. Both modes allow you to prioritize either the OLED screen or the colorful e-ink panel, thanks to a rotating hinge.

On the one hand, the screen is 13.3 inches 2.8K OLED, has touch glass and thin edges, while the electronic ink panel is 12 inches, it is also touch and has an improved refresh rate of 12Hz.

This device runs on Windows 11 and supports 13th generation Intel Core processors. It has 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and internal storage of up to 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. In addition, it enables Intel WiFi 6E wireless connectivity, which improves performance and stability.

THINKBOOK 16P GEN 4

The ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 is a laptop that introduces the redesign of performance models in this range and features a 16-inch 3.2K 165Hz display with Dolby Atmos support, DDR5 RAM and dual SSD storage with up to 2TB capacity.

This computer has an 80Whr battery with a fast charging system, so it offers greater autonomy and requires less recharging time, as explained by the company.

It has a glass touch panel to favor interaction, four Harman Kardon speakers and an FHD camera. From Lenovo they have indicated that the dual microphones with noise cancellation have been designed so that the interlocutors can hear the user’s voice above the ambient sound.

The manufacturer has indicated that the ThinkBook Plus Twist will be available from June 2023 at a price of 1,699 euros in its basic configuration, while the ThinkBook 16p Gen 4 will be available from June 1,399 euros.

ACCESSORIES

Along with these two devices, Lenovo has brought its users a series of accessories corresponding to the Magic Bay range, that can be used without the need for additional cables, adapters or power supplies.

Lenovo Magic Bay 4K Webcam It is a camera designed for high-resolution video conferencing and streaming and features automatic light adjustment, as well as a maximum resolution of 4K at 30fps. This accessory will only be available with the ThinkBook 16p Gen 4.

On the other hand, Lenovo Magic Bay Light is a lighting solution created to generate an adjustable brightness of up to 200 lux with minimal consumption. Finally, Lenovo Magic Bay LTE provides 4G LTE speeds and includes a wired USB-C port for easy compatibility with other laptops.

The company has also presented at CES your first wireless charging solution for the ThinkBook 13x Gen 2. This is the ThinkBook Wireless Dock, which combines multiple cutting-edge technologies and uses the WiFi 6 solution.

On the other hand, it has unveiled the ThinkCentre Neo 50q Gen 4, one of the latest iterations of the ThinkCentre Neo family of desktop computers. It offers the latest generation of Intel processors, a storage capacity of up to 1TB SSD and 1TB HDD storage and up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM.

While the ThinkBook Wireless Dock for the ThinkBook 13x Gen 2 will be available in select markets as part of a configuration package, the ThinkCentre Neo 50q Gen 4 will be available for purchase from June starting at €300.

YOGA BOOK 9i DUAL SCREEN

Lenovo has also presented at CES the new Yoga Book 9i, a laptop with dual OLED display 13.3-inch t 2.8K resolution, which reaches 400 nits of brightness and has a refresh rate of 60Hz.

This device, which weighs 1.38 kg, has 100 percent DCI-P3 color accuracy, is built on an Intel Evo platform, works with Windows 11 Home and Pro and has Intel Iris X graphics, as well as a 16GB LPDDR5X memory.

This computer includes a folio stand, which allows users to work on the go thanks to a detachable bluetooth keyboard that enhances the multitasking potential of this ‘gadget’, as well as a Smart Pen stylus. Likewise, at the ‘software’ level, Lenovo has collaborated with Microsoft to offer its owners tools “to work, learn and create”.

The desktop version of this laptop is the Yoga AIO 9i, which features a 31.5-inch 4K sRGB borderless display on three sides, which sits on a slim panel with a metal hinge, capable of tilting to any desired angle.

This desktop mounts a 13th generation Intel Core i9 processor and can be combined with an Nvidia Next Gen Laptop GPU. It also has four Harman Kardon speakers, Dolby Atmos spatial audio and an integrated 5-megapixel (MP) ‘infrared webcam’ with built-in electric shutter.

The YogaBook 9i 13-inch will have a starting price of 2,299 euros and is expected to be available from July. Also by then, the launch of the 32-inch Yoga AIO 9i is expected, with a starting price of 1,899 euros.

On the other hand, Lenovo has released Project Chronosintended as a home computing device for the tech creator. It is a computer station that can be mounted on the wall or placed on a surface and is used to create content in virtual worlds.

At the moment, its official name has not been announced, although the manufacturer has commented that it will reveal it with the launch of its ‘hardware’ and full capabilities.

LENOVO TAB EXTREME AND LENOVO SMART PAPER

Lenovo Tab Extreme is a 14.5-inch tablet with a 3K OLED display with DCI-P3 color gamut and refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. It has eight high-performance JBL four-channel speakers and is manufactured with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Octa- core.

This ‘gadget’ has a 12,300mAh battery and supports a 68W charge. Also, this device works with Lenovo Tab Extreme Keyboard and Lenovo Tab Folio Case.

On the other hand, Lenovo SmartPaper is a digital notepad that is equipped with a 10.3-inch anti-glare e-ink display that is encased in a metal casing. This device also has a stylus that registers a latency of up to 23 milliseconds and its screen has 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity.

The Lenovo Tab Extreme, instead, it will be available from March 2023 at a price of 1,199 euros, while Lenovo Smart Paper will be launched in March for 499 euros.

Finally, the electronic manufacturer has announced the new generation of laptops Renewed Yoga Slim 6i and Yoga 9i, with 14-inch screens, as well as Yoga Slim 7i Carbon (13-inch) and Yoga 6 (13-inch). The latter has as a novelty the latest AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors and an improved battery.

The renewed Yoga Slim 6i The 14-inch will cost 899 euros starting in February of next year, while the Yoga 9i (14-inch) and Yoga 6 (13-inch) can be purchased starting that month from 1,899 and 899 euros, respectively.
