Lebanese health authorities reported this Thursday that more than 3,100 people have died in the country, victims of attacks carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) over the last year as part of their offensive against the party. -Lebanese Shiite militia Hezbollah.
Specifically, the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health has reported on its social networks that 3,102 people have died and another 13,819 have been injured. In the last 24 hours alone, the Israeli Army’s attacks have left 52 dead and another 161 Lebanese injured.
The most affected area has been the Baalbek-Hermel governorate with 36 dead and 67 injured; followed by Becá, with another thirteen dead and 21 wounded; and from the governorate of Nabatié, where three more deaths and 47 injuries have been confirmed. Another 23 people were injured in the Southern governorate and three more in Mount Lebanon.
Among the total number of fatalities, the Lebanese authorities have detailed that 2,230 are men, 614 are women and another 192 are minors. Regarding the injured, some 10,760 are men, another 2,522 women and more than 1,250 are children. There are also almost 180 health personnel dead and more than 300 injured.
The Israeli Army unleashed a new invasion of Lebanon on October 1 after several weeks of intense bombings and attacks against the country, including the coordinated explosion of thousands of communication devices, after more than eleven months of fighting with Hezbollah in the border area. .
The resurgence in hostilities is part of the clashes that began more than a year ago, after Hezbollah attacked Israeli territory a day after the Hamas attacks on October 7, 2023, which led Israel to unleash a bloody offensive against the Gaza Strip, where more than 43,400 people have already died.
