It’s still almost 2 months before it debuts The Last of Us: Part Ithe remake of the original PlayStation 3 jewel of 2013. However, this title is in the midst of controversy because many consider that it is a game that instead of being a remake is rather a moneybag on the part of PlayStation and today, right after the new leaks, a developer came out to defend it.

You may remember that a member of Naughty Dog, the studio in charge of the project, spoke about how The Last of Us: Part I it is a project that is being developed with such care and detail that it should not be considered a money grabber.

The community, however, still does not agree and reaffirmed its position when gameplay appeared that apparently does not improve anything from the original game system, in addition to the fact that one of those responsible for the leak referred that there were no gameplay improvements.

The Last of Us: Part I yes it will have gameplay improvements

Well, after the new leaks revived the controversy, another developer from the Californian studio appeared to set his position in this case. We are talking about Samuel Prince, a senior editor at Naughty Dog who has worked on the studio’s projects Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves, The Last of Us: Part II Y The Last of Us: Part I.

This developer took advantage of his Twitter account to mention that “leaks suck” and that they cause a lot of damage to those responsible for the project: “Material aimed at the public takes a long time to create, review, approve, locate, qualify in the ESRB, etc. Be nice!”

With the above, the developer seemed to suggest that Naughty Dog had more content, but that it was not ready to show it yet, which is why it hates that players have access to material through leaks, perhaps because it is not presented in the ideal way. .

For example, the leaked material suggests that there will be no gameplay improvements, something that was reaffirmed by what one of the leakers said. However, Prince reaffirmed that the gameplay was also reworked by reiterating a previous message from the studio about him.

“The gameplay mechanics will also be rebuilt,” Naughty Dog assured when a fan questioned whether the gameplay would be identical to the original or if it would also present improvements such as the graphic section.

What gameplay news will it have? The Last of Us: Part I?

Well, Naughty Dog wasn’t lying, but rather it was a matter of time before the studio shared a new trailer with gameplay details of the project in which it confirmed that, indeed, The Last of Us: Part I will have gameplay news.

Precisely a speedrun mode and another permanent death mode were revealed, in which a defeat restarts the game completely. Also, a more contemplative mode was shown: a spectator mode of dynamic 3D models of the most memorable moments of the adventure.

On the other hand, it was confirmed that there will be unlockable cosmetic accessories for Ellie and Joel, both for them in the form of clothing or weapons that will undoubtedly give more variety to the original experience.

Finally, the accessibility options were detailed; in fact The Last of Us: Part I It will be the first PlayStation Studios game to have an audio description of what happens in the video sequences, something that many people will appreciate.

As for the graphic section, what Naughty Dog meant that the game would be made from scratch is precisely that, the game was not improved on the old models, but everything was “reinvented” and in the most recent gameplay it can be seen , because the scenarios and arrangement of some elements were modified.

In addition, the improved animations of the work table in which Joel will improve his weapons and which we told you about in a past note were seen.

“There’s something special about that foundational experience of playing as Joel and Ellie in this adventure and then taking that experience and really honoring it and keeping it authentic, but elevating it in every way possible, whether it’s its process, whether it’s its art direction, whether it’s their technology, anything that would allow us to make that experience better… not different, but extremely better. That’s why for me this is the ultimate way to play. The Last of Us“said Neil Druckmann, co-president and writer of Naughty Dog.
