July 7. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov met this Thursday with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting of the G20 countries scheduled for this day in Indonesia.

Both have addressed the situation in Ukraine in the face of the Russian invasion of the territory and the actions taken by the international community, as reported by the Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement.

“The parties paid special attention to the situation in Ukraine. Lavrov briefed his Chinese counterpart on how the tasks set in the framework of the special operation of the Russian Armed Forces, launched to defend the civilian population of Donbas, are being fulfilled, demilitarize and denazify Ukraine”, indicates the text.

The two ministers have exchanged analyzes and opinions on the steps taken by the West in this regard and have described the imposition of unilateral sanctions as “inadmissible”.

On the other hand, they have highlighted the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries despite the “complicated geopolitical situation” and have shown their willingness to continue expanding their strategic cooperation.

Lavrov is also scheduled to meet with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu as part of the meeting to be held on July 7-8 on the island of Bali.
