The fire continues unabated in some parts of Spain. The Bejís fire, in Castellón, is still out of control and has forced new evictions this morning, while in Vall d’Ebo the flames have already devoured more than 11,000 hectares.

The drought has been aggravated by climate change and this has caused the faucets in the houses of some towns to go out. Only twelve months ago, the water reserves in Spain were at 44%. Today, failing the usual rainfall and unable to recover from intensive consumption, resources have fallen to a century low: 39%. The average for the decade is 58%.

Two months have passed since the Iberian exception was launched, the cap on gas prices to mitigate its impact on the bill of those who have a regulated rate. Since that June 15, the savings of these consumers exceeds 17%.
