Today we have seen how Plex has been the victim of an attack in which they have stolen some user data, asking them to change the password as security. Well, it seems that the wave of cyberattacks continues to spread and has also affected to LastPass, the famous password manager. In the release They say that a couple of weeks ago they detected a unusual activity in the development part of LastPass.
The company ensures that they have not been able to access their customer data or password storage, but have only been able to access the company’s source code and technical information. As a result of this activity, LastPass has hired an independent cybersecurity company to help them implement new measures that can prevent these attacks while offering greater security for their customers.
Although the form of access through this compromised developer account has not been detailed, nor what type of code or technology has been stolen, the company assures that by not having accessed sensitive information no additional action required. In LastPass, the vault can only be decrypted with the data that the customer has on their device, so they can rest easy on that part.
