Roberto Sotomayor, Podemos candidate for Madrid City Council: “Ayuso is a health terrorist”

The candidate of Podemos for the Madrid City Council, Roberto Sotomayor, has assured this Monday that the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, is a “sanitary terrorist”, “as thousands and thousands of citizens who attended the Demonstration for Public Health”. Sotomayor has accused Ayuso of neglecting the mental health of the people of Madrid, for which he has promised to hire 1,200 psychologists in response to the action of the “health terrorist” Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community.

In an informative breakfast in which he was presented by the General Secretary of Podemos and Minister of Social Rights and the 2030 Agenda, Ione Belarra, and in which the Minister of Equality, Irene Montero, and other prominent members of the formation of left, has emphasized that suicide is the leading cause of unnatural death among young people.

Sotomayor has also criticized the mayor, whom he has accused of having turned off the cameras again this Sunday so that the massive influx of protesters could not be verified. In addition, he has denounced that the Madrid City Council dedicated itself “to putting fines on the residents of Carabanchel for distributing leaflets” to encourage people to go to the health concentration. “Almeida must be removed from the City Council, otherwise it would be a failure of the progressive forces”, he has sentenced.

Llop on the reform of the ‘only yes is yes’ law: “We need a very rigorous text; if it fails again it would be quite serious”

The Minister of Justice, Pilar Llop, has stated that if the reform of the ‘only yes is yes’ law fails “again” and “unwanted effects” occur again, the situation “would be quite serious”. “Now we need a text that is very rigorous,” he said. in an interview in La Vanguardia“there is a problem and it must be solved”, he added.

Last week, the PSOE decided to present its proposal to reform the law alone, after failing to reach an agreement with Unidas Podemos on the matter. Asked if he trusts that his coalition partner will finally join the proposal, Llop has indicated that he “trusts” that there will be “a consensus among all parliamentary groups” to move the reform forward. “Its only objective is to restore the victims and prevent low sentences from being imposed for serious events,” she stressed.

36.7% of 2019 Ciudadanos voters would opt for the PP today

36.7% of the people who voted for Ciudadanos in 2019 would now opt for the PP if general elections were held. These are data from the Simple Lógica survey for elDiario.es, according to which, 11.5% of those voters would remain faithful to the orange formation.

Something similar happens when choosing a leader: 42% of those who opted for Ciudadanos believe that Feijóo is the most popular leader, while 38% stay with Arrimadas, the former president of the oranges.

The rest of the political formations remain faithful to the bulk of their electorate: in the PP they would repeat 67.8% of the voters of 2019; the figure would be 60.1% in the case of the PSOE; 59.9% for Vox, or 56.8% for United We Can.

Yolanda Díaz, the most valued political leader according to the Simple Lógica survey

The Second Vice President of the Government and Minister of Labor, Yolanda Díaz, consolidates for another month as the most valued political leader and increases her advantage over the leader of the Executive, who is in second place. Thus, Díaz obtained 41.5% approval, up two points from the previous poll, compared to 36.7% for Pedro Sánchez, who lost 1.6 points.

The third position continues to be for the leader of Más País, Iñigo Errejón, who, although he falls slightly compared to the previous poll, passes with 32.6% of participants and is positioned almost eight points behind Alberto Garzón, who occupies fourth place. The leader of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, is in fifth position with 23.6% approval, falling one point and exchanging with the Minister of Consumption.

Ione Belarra is the one that approves for the fewest respondents (13.1%), followed by Santiago Abascal (13.5%) and Inés Arrimadas (18.4%). If the focus is on disapproval, the leader of Vox is in first place, with 77.9%, followed by the former president of Ciudadanos (68.8%) and the general secretary of Podemos (65.1% )

The PP maintains its two point advantage against a PSOE that is recovering slightly

If elections were held today, the PP would be the force with the most votes, according to the Simple Lógica survey for elDiario.es. Those of Feijóo would do so with 29.7% of the votes, compared to 27.7% of the PSOE, which would be the second force. In third place would be Vox, which would gain 15.2% of the support and in fourth place Unidas Podemos, which would obtain 11.2%.

The support has moved very slightly compared to the survey of the previous month, in which the PP was also the first force, but had 0.2 points more, the PSOE was the second, with 0.7 less; Vox, the third, with 0.3 less; and Unidas Podemos the fourth, with 0.7 less.

Thus, the controversy within the Government over the reform of the ‘only yes is yes’ law has not had an impact, at least for the moment, on the electoral expectations of the coalition parties.

the topics of the day

Good morning! A day marked once again by the controversy surrounding the reform of the ‘only yes is yes’ law begins and in which there will continue to be reactions about the health protests this Sunday. But first, we leave you here some topics from this Monday’s edition of elDiario.es:

-Feijóo maintains a two-point advantage with a slight recovery on the left: according to the Simple Lógica survey for elDiario.es, if general elections were held today, the PP would win, which would be two points above the PSOE . those of Feijóo would win 29.7% of the votes, while those of Sánchez would obtain 27.7%. In third place would be Vox, with 15.2% of support, and in fourth place United We Can, which would obtain 11.2%.

-The new leadership of Ciudadanos clashes with Inés Arrimadas over Vox’s motion of no confidence: the new leadership of Ciudadanos, headed by Patricia Guasp and Adrián Vázquez, has another opinion regarding the motion of no confidence against Sánchez proposed by Vox : unlike what Arrimadas intended to do, they have said they will vote ‘no’ if it materializes.

-Ayuso coldly serves revenge against those close to Casado: Enrique López, the first to fall: Enrique López has resigned from the PP as a step prior to his return to the National Court. His relationship with Ayuso is not going through its best moment given his affinity with Casado and after not clearly siding with the Madrid president in her war against the former leader of the popular.

-Living without bank offices or ATMs: “They have completely abandoned us”: While the big banks make records with their benefits, with profits of more than 20,800 million, Spain empties itself of ATMs and bank offices and the elderly lose autonomy in managing their own money: “Many people do not have enough studies to use the Internet and must trust those closest to them.”

-Madrid overflows for public health: “We won this fight”: hundreds of thousands of people of all ages returned to the streets of Madrid this Sunday in defense of public health.
