2K has revealed that kobe bryant will be the NBA 2K24 video game cover athlete in two of the three editions that will be available, accompanying the special for the 25th anniversary of the franchise.
The 18-time All-Star, five-time NBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, two-time Olympic gold medalist, Los Angeles Lakers all-time leading scorer, and Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Kobe Bryant will star on the cover of two editions of NBA 2K24.
The develops celebrates 25 years of NBA 2K commemorating “the legacy and generational impact that [Kobe Bryant] has had on the game of basketball,” said the president of Visual Concepts, Greg Thomas, in a press release.
NBA 2K24 will arrive September 8 for all platforms and will have ‘crossplay’ compatibility for PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X | S. It will have three editions in various digital and physical formats: Kobe Bryant Edition, Black Mamba Edition and 25th Anniversary Edition, which includes a twelve-month subscription to NBA League Pass.
Players will find the new Mamba Moments mode, in which some of Kobe’s outstanding performances are recreated and traces his career. It also introduces proPLAY, a new technology that directly translates the images of the NBA to the gameplay of NBA 2K24 on PS5 and Xbox Series
