Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, accused the United States on Monday of trying to “hinder” the development of North Korea and has completely ruled out the possibility of disarmament.
Thus, he has indicated that these ideas are “delusional” and has criticized the policies of the US Government to increase its alliance with South Korea. As he has explained, these actions “will only make it more difficult for Pyongyang to commit to dialogue.”
“The United States is delusional if it thinks that it will be able to halt our development and achieve an irreversible disarmament process simply by temporarily halting military exercises and suspending military deployment,” he was quoted as saying by the North’s state news agency KCNA.
Kim has, in turn, rejected Washington’s calls for dialogue “without conditions” and has insisted that these are “maneuvers to prevent the development” of the country.
“We remain firm to respond to any action that may infringe on our sovereignty and damage the stability of our people,” he said before warning that the launch of intercontinental ballistic missiles “is only the beginning.”
