July 9 (EUROPA PRESS) –
A state president of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Nigerian government party, has presumably been kidnapped by a group of “bandits” and his whereabouts are currently unknown, as confirmed by the formation itself .
Paul Omotoso, president of the APC for the state of Etiki, in the southwest of the country, was intercepted by his kidnappers precisely when he was driving through the territory on Saturday along the highway between Agbado and Imesi, as confirmed by the local press officer for the match, according to Dipe, at a press conference collected by the ‘Premium Times’.
“He was driving in his Venza when one of the bandits fired several times at the wheels of his car. They put him in a Toyota Hilux and drove off at full speed,” confirmed the media manager.
The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Saturday and security forces have launched an immediate investigation into it, according to the party.
Nigerian “bandits” are groups of heavily armed kidnappers who subsist on extortion and looting, as well as ransoms they receive from kidnappings, many of them from students.
The Nigerian government has declared these organizations terrorist groups to facilitate military intervention against the gangs.
