March 5 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Kenya has suffered a blackout throughout the national territory this Saturday due to a disturbance in the electrical grid system that has lasted more than six hours, leaving a large part of the country in the dark.
At 6:25 p.m. (local time) the electrical energy company Kenya Power announced in a statement the loss of energy supply in various parts of the country, after a multitude of users on social networks reported that they had run out of electricity.
“We have lost power supply in various parts of the country due to a system disturbance. We are working to restore normality in the shortest possible time,” read the first statement offered by the company.
After the electricity has been gradually recovered in cities such as Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu during the afternoon, it was not until after 00:00 (local time) this Sunday when the energy supply was recovered throughout the country.
“We are pleased to report that the power supply has been restored in all areas of the country,” reported the company, which suffered another blackout in mid-January.
