The Kazakh Interior Ministry has indicated in a statement that the agents have dismantled a “secret cell” of the “extremist organization Hizb ut-Tahrir”, which it accuses of maintaining an ideology “aimed at overthrowing the secular constitutional order and introducing ‘ sharia’ in the country”.

Thus, he has indicated that the members of the cell used the Internet to spread the ideology of clerics linked to the group and has stated that their leader, whose identity has not been revealed, was already convicted in the past for “participating in the activities of an organization.” outlawed religious extremist.

On the other hand, he stressed that during the operation “extremist religious literature” and “other material evidence” have been seized, before stating that the accused are being investigated for “propaganda of terrorism” and “incitement to religious hatred” in the country. Central Asian.

The organization, founded in the 1950s by Taqialdin al Nabani, seeks the reestablishment of the Islamic caliphate to unite the Muslim community and apply ‘sharia’ worldwide, with a presence in more than 50 countries and hundreds of thousands of followers around the world.
