In April 2021, all the available members of the National Police in Ávila were summoned for a mission: to spend the whole night watching a house. They were not chasing a criminal or intercepting a drug shipment, but were trying to enter a home where seven police officers were having a party, bypassing the restrictions imposed at that time to contain COVID-19. Now, as elDiario.es has learned, several sub-inspectors have been suspended for a month for going to the party and not collaborating with their colleagues when they were alerted by a neighbor who complained about the noise. According to the judges, they caused “brutal” damage to the image of the Police in the midst of a pandemic.
