Justice has established that a national police officer has to ask for permission to be a youtuber. In a ruling to which elDiario.es has had access, the Superior Court of Madrid confirms a 150-day sanction to an agent for having a YouTube channel in which he identified himself as a police officer, talked about issues related to the Police and charged money from their subscribers. The judges do not clearly prohibit a National Police agent from having a channel and uploading videos, but they understand that they must pass the filter of their superiors to be able to do so if, in addition, they earn money: “Private activity as a YouTuber is neither absolutely incompatible or completely compatible, but to exercise it, the recognition of compatibility is mandatory, ”says the resolution.
