The parliamentary group together has asked the Parliamentary Board to reconsider the suspension agreement of the party leader, Laura Borrasas president of the Chamber, something that she assures will serve to “exhaust all administrative tours” before taking the matter to European judicial institutions.

In a statement, the parliamentary group explained that it had asked the Board to reconsider the agreement because it considers that “its application violates fundamental rights, such as the right to be presumed innocent, the right to political participation and the principle of legal certainty”.

He added that, “following the recommendations of the president’s legal team, this procedure will serve to exhaust all the administrative routes before opening the judicial route in Europe”. The beginning of the journey could begin with the Constitutional Court, an entity criticized by the same party.

This weekend, the deputy secretary of the PSC Lluïsa Moret assured that her party will promote “the necessary measures” to replace the Presidency of Parliament to the suspended president and leader of Junts if Junts does not take measures in this regard. In an interview with Europa Press, Moret stressed that the Socialists and their parliamentary group are evaluating options and working to set their roadmap on this matter: “What we will do is explore and see what is the route that may be more efficient or more effective.”

Although he did not rule out trying to force a plenary session to choose a new president, Moret refused to detail the options that the socialists are considering because he said that they are not closed and that the current one is a “very open stage with many options on the table”. The PSC is exploring these after Borràs was suspended by the Table with the votes in favor of PSC-Units, ERC and the CUP after the decision of the Superior Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) to send her to trial for allegedly dividing contracts when she directed the Institution of Catalan Letters (ILC).
