Storm Julia weakened on Monday, but its remnants could still cause flash flooding in Central America and southern Mexico through Tuesday, according to the National Hurricane Center (NHC).
According to Bulletin issued at 5 pm on Monday, the remnants of Julia were located 125 km west of Guatemala City, with maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h.
Julia is expected to produce rain through Tuesday in El Salvador and southern Guatemala, and in Mexico’s Isthmus of Tehuantepec, where there is a threat of flash flooding, according to the NHC.
