Judy Reyes says there’s been a lot of talk about the revival of ‘Scrubs’

“Scrubs” actress Judy Reyes co-stars in the new drama “High Potential,” premiering Tuesday, Sept. 17 on ABC (10 p.m. ET).

“I found the show really funny and interesting — the whole idea of ​​this mother of three who has a ridiculously high IQ, but is too smart for a regular job, and becomes an incredible asset to this team of police officers,” Reyes, 56, told The Post.

“High Potential” was created by Drew Goddard, based on the French program “HPI”.

The procedural crime drama follows Morgan ((Kaitlin Olson)a single mother who works as a night cleaner in the Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit. She has “high intellectual potential,” meaning she knows and remembers more trivia than the average person.

When Morgan gets caught up in one of the LAPD’s cases and they notice her unusual ability to see details that the cops miss, she is hired to assist Detective Adam Karadec (Daniel Sunjata). Karadec is not happy about this, but Lieutenant Selena Soto (Reyes) oversees him and decides to bring Morgan in to offer her unconventional help.

Junior detectives Daphne Forrester (Javicia Leslie) and Lev “Oz” Ozdil (Deniz Akdeniz) round out her team, while former “SNL” star Taran Killam plays Morgan’s ex, Ludo.

Reyes, who grew up in New York, said she was excited to play “the role of the lieutenant who has the vision and foresight to take a risk with someone like this.”

Reyes is best known for “Scrubs,” but is a longtime television veteran, appearing on “The Sopranos” and shows like “Claws,” “Devious Maids” and “Jane The Virgin.”

She said she identified with “the whole taking control and risk aspect” of her character, Selena.

“And just using my many years as an actress, using them to educate younger children, is also something that is a total asset,” she shared.

“I tend to gravitate towards strong, down-to-earth female roles that can easily… [be in] a leadership position.”

As for what’s in store for the season, Reyes, who called Olson a “dynamo” and a “force,” said there will be “a lot of death, mayhem, jokes and a growing partnership between my character and hers. It will evolve into a female-friendly kind of procedural.”
