“Daily Show”correspondent Jordan Klepperwho has attended dozens of donald trump‘s rallies over the years, said he’s seen a key difference at the former president’s most recent events.
“Quite frankly, what we’ve noticed, is there’s less of an energy there,” he told MSNBC‘s Jen Psaki on Sunday. “There’s not as many people showing up. “It feels tired.”
He said there are still plenty of MAGA faithful turning out ― including Trump mega fans who go to as many rallies as they can ― but there’s definitely been a shift in the vibe.
“It feels like the circus has been around to your town many, many times, and not everyone is showing up for this last go ’round,” he said.
“I heard there was another rally here on Friday night,” Obama said at an event for Vice President Kamala Harris at Detroit’s Huntington Place, where Trump spoke a few days before. “But it was a little smaller than this one.”
Harris took a shot at Trump’s diminishing crowds at their debate in September as she pointed out that his audience was growing bored and leaving while he was still speaking.
That seemed to strike a nerve.
Klepper’s latest special airs Monday night on Comedy Central.
