MADRID Dec. 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Syrian rebel alliance led by the jihadist group Hayat Tahrir al Sham (HTS) declared this Sunday the beginning of a curfew of approximately 12 hours in the country’s capital, Damascus.
The Military Coordination Command, the structure led by HTS and in which armed groups related to Turkey participate, has let the population know that the curfew will begin at 4:00 p.m. (2:00 p.m. in mainland Spain and the Balearic Islands) and will end at 4:00 p.m. 05:00 this coming Monday (03:00 in mainland Spain and Balares), according to a message published on his channel on the Telegram platform.
The group does not specify the reasons for the curfew, but during the last few hours Israel has unleashed a series of attacks against facilities located on the outskirts of the capital, as confirmed by security sources to Channel 12 of Israeli national television.
Sources from the Israeli newspaper ‘Yedioth Aharonoth’ have confirmed Israeli attacks against the Al Mezza military airport in Damascus and other targets in Deraa and Sueida, in the south of the country, to destroy “ammunition and missile depots” that could be used to attack Israel.
