The approval of the Government of Japanese Prime Minister, Fumio Kishida, has fallen another five points in the last month, to 38 percent, confirming the second month of decline, according to a survey published on Monday.
The study, published by the Japanese public television NHK, also reflects that the rejection of the government’s management has increased four more points, up to 41 percent.
On the controversial discharge of water from the Fukushima nuclear power plant, 35 percent support the water treatment plan and discharge into the ocean, 20 percent reject it and 40 percent do not know or do not answer.
The Kishida government has also come under fire in recent weeks for bugs in the new My Number ID identity system, and a review of the program has been announced in the fall. 33 percent of the Japanese consider that the response of the authorities has been adequate; 49 percent, that it has not been, and 18 percent do not know or do not answer.
The goal is for the new identity card to replace the social security card in the fall of 2024. 36 percent of Japanese believe the plan should be postponed and 35 percent believe it should be cancelled. 22 percent support substitution.
The survey was carried out between Friday and Sunday, consulting 2,434 people over the age of 18, of whom 1,218 answered.
