The incident would have occurred near the island of Kuchinoerabu.
The Japanese Ministry of Defense declared this wednesday that a Shupang-class research vessel of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army entered its territorial waters, near Kuchinoerabu Island, which belongs to Kagoshima Prefecture.
The ship left Japanese territorial waters near the island of Yakushima, in the same prefecture, and then headed southeast. While the Chinese ship made its journey through the area, the japanese self-defense forces kept an eye on him and collected data.
The Japanese Ministry of Defense he claimed it was the eighth time and the first since September this yearwhen a Chinese Army ship entered its territorial waters.
Meanwhile, on October 1 and 7, patrol vessels of the Chinese Maritime Police entered the area near the Diaoyu (Senkaku) Islands, in the East China Sea, territory in dispute between Beijing and Tokyo.
