Japan approves Microsoft's purchase of Activision-Blizzard



The Microsoft’s purchase of Activision-Blizzard It continues to make its way among the different regulatory authorities of the main countries. If the European Union seems to give the go-ahead, and the UK authorities changed their position 180 degrees after Microsoft’s allegations against Sony’s accusations, now Japan is the country that has approved the operation.

The JFTC (Japan Fair Trade Commission, or “Japan Fair Trade Commission”) Has published a press release in which, after investigating all the details of the purchase transaction, that Microsoft take over the developer Activision-Blizzard does not imply any restriction on free competition in any market.

At the moment, it seems that only the US authorities (the FTC) remain to approve the purchase. Don’t forget that the FTC itself has denounced Microsoft in an attempt to block the operation, which is why it is the last big obstacle that Redmond faces before being able to finalize the purchase of the developers of sagas such as Diablo and Call of Duty among many others.

For its part, Microsoft has already reached an agreement with Nintendo to bring games like Call of Duty to the Nintendo Switch, in addition to promising releases on Sony consoles for 10 years.
