James Carville Delivers Most Confounding Election Forecast Ever on Jimmy Fallon Bit

“Veteran political strategist James Carville, famous for his colorful language, confidently predicted that Kamala Harris will win the election even though he previously admitted that this race is, and this is an actual quote, ‘tighter than a mosquito’s butt,'” Fallon said on “The Tonight Show” on Thursday.

That was the setup for Fallon to make a phone call with a fake Carville to get some clarity. Instead, he got a lot of colorful language.

Fallon: “I want to talk about this New York Times prediction that Kamala Harris is going to win. So how do you know this?

Carville: “Of course, everyone is free to read the articles. But the best way to put it is this: When I look at the political landscape, for me the result is that it’s about juggling rattlesnakes without stepping on a mudskipper, you know what I mean?

Fallon: “Not really. But we would love to know how you arrived at your prediction.”

Carville: “Look, I’ll put it to you this way. Okay, I’m not the kind of person who likes to drink slushies straight from the fish tank. I’m not a freshman sauce squeezer either, you know what I mean?

Fallon: “Not really yet, no. How should people face the next two weeks while they wait for the election results?

Carville: “Most people don’t have the patience to boil cotton candy with a potato. Much less teach three stupid opossums to do the fandango.

The conversation came to an end when the imagined Carville excused himself to go “put a chair on a shrimp.”
