Jaime Collepardo, actor who played Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, dies

Jaime CollepardoMexican voice actor with a long career in dubbing, died this September 29, 2024. The actor was best known for participating in different anime and video game productions, including his acclaimed role as Ganondorf in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomas well as by roles in League of Legends, Super champions, One Piece and naruto.

The Mexican actor died at the age of 43 after a long life dedicated to dubbing and voiceover. At the moment the causes of his death are unknown.

The death of Jaime Collepardo became public after different individuals from the dubbing and voice-over guild regretted the event on their social networks. One of them was Alina Galindoannouncer and television host, who issued an emotional message for her dear friend.

“You are already with your mother, dear friend. Come back loud and let your voice and your talent resonate in the universe or in the plane where only beautiful souls like yours deserve to be. RIP Jaime Collepardo, voice actor and announcer. We will miss you very much,” Alina said.

Likewise, Jessica Ángeles, who plays Zelda in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdomsaid goodbye to the actor: “I’m shocked, I can’t believe it, I send you all my love and light on your path.”

For gamers, Jaime Collepardo is best known for being the first Latin actor to play the imposing Ganondorf, villain of the saga. The Legend of Zelda. That said, his gaming career went beyond that with participation in games like League of Legends, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and The Casting of Frank Stone.

Outside of video games, Collepardo participated in dubbing several anime series and productions. The actor lent his voice as Kinshiki Ōtsutsuki from naruto and Jean Bart of One Piece. Likewise, he collaborated in the dubbing of different animated films and television series.
