The newly elected President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics, has “strongly” condemned the “deliberate destruction of the Nova Kakhovna dam in Ukraine by Russia“.

“This is an ecological disaster, lives are in danger. Russia is a terrorist state that must be stopped. We must intensify support for Ukraine and bring war criminals to justice,” he claimed.
“Terrorists don’t stop unless they are stopped. They don’t deal with anything except force. They cause major catastrophes without remorse. I’ll say it again: a lasting peace in Europe requires a Ukrainian victory both on the battlefield and in the courts. Nothing else will work,” Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said.
“The destruction of the Nova Kakhovna dam brings attacks against civilian infrastructure and civilians in Ukraine to a new, unprecedented level.
