Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are amazing consoles, but no one will deny that it would be amazing if they had a little more storage. The big problem is that expanding the size of the console is expensive because there is only one brand that produces them. Fortunately, new information seems to indicate that this is about to change, which could reduce its price considerably.
It turns out that in recent days it was discovered a product page at Best Buy which corresponds to an expansion card for Xbox Series X | S of the WD_Black brand. This drew a lot of attention since, to date, Seagate is the only company that produces this type of product for the Microsoft console.
In the publication we can see images of the expansion card, which is not very different from the model offered by Seagate. What is different is its price; while the Seagate-made 1TB card is offered for $220, WD_Black’s is $180, a savings of $40. Nothing bad!

Now, keep in mind that it is likely that prices will not drop drastically. That is, it is good to have more options that will create competition in the market; however, the reality is that there are hardly any models and it is not cheap technology. That being said, this is a step in the right direction.
The bad news is that, at the moment, these cards have not been officially revealed. So, we will have to wait a while to have more details about it. While that happens we will keep an eye on it and once an official announcement is made we will share all the information with you.
