Three settlers have been arrested and placed in a situation of administrative detention -a figure usually reserved for suspected terrorists-, bringing there are now eight settlers arrested for the attacks in recent weeks against the Palestinian population.
The Israeli right-wing legal aid group Honenu has denounced these three new arrests made on Monday morning by the Shin Bet -Israeli secret services for the interior and the Palestinian territories- and by the Police that have not culminated in the presentation of suspects in court.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has signed administrative detention orders, according to Israeli Army Radio. One of the detainees would be a soldier from the Israeli Armed Forces while another would be a former soldier who has just finished his military stage.
Hundreds of Israeli settlers attacked several Palestinian villages and towns causing extensive material damage to vehicles and houses for five days in a row following the June 20 death of four Israelis in an attack by Palestinian militants near the Eli settlement. One Palestinian was killed and several more were injured.
