Oct. 24 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Lydda District Court in Israel has rejected an appeal for the release of Palestinian prisoner Nasser Abu Hamid, whose health has seriously worsened due to cancer and his condition is already critical.
The Palestinian Prisoners Society has reported that the hearing was held without Abu Hamid himself for health reasons, according to the Palestinian news agency Wafa. The prisoner has not been able to connect by videoconference either.
The Palestinian authorities have denounced the Israeli “negligence” that would have caused a deterioration of Abu Hamid’s health after the doctors decided to stop chemotherapy.
They also denounce that Abu Hamid suffers from pneumonia, the reason for his last hospitalization, but that he has subsequently been returned to Ramla prison.
