June 3 (EUROPA PRESS) –
Kibbutz Kirim confirmed this Monday the death of an Israeli-British hostage, Nadav Popplewell, after the armed wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), the Ezzeldin al Qassam Brigades, announced in May that he had lost his life during a Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip.
The body of Popplewell, 51, is in the hands of the Palestinian militia. “We regret the death of Nadav and we join in the pain of his mother Hanna, Eyelet and the rest of the family,” reads the statement, reported by the Israeli press.
Hours before announcing his death in May, the Brigades had published a video in which Popplewell appeared alive and communicative, although he had a significant bruise on his right eye. He was kidnapped from his home during the October 7 attacks along with his mother, Hanna Peri, who was freed during the week-long truce in November.
“His health deteriorated, causing his death due to the lack of intensive medical care in health centers, as a consequence of the destruction of hospitals in the Gaza Strip by the enemy,” said his spokesman, Abu Obeida.
