Israeli security forces have successfully carried out a series of exercises simulating clashes in Lebanon on Thursday, activities that come as the army is again bombarding Beirut, the Lebanese capital, after days of attacks against the neighbouring country.
The Israeli Armed Forces, which confirmed that the Seventh Brigade carried out these maneuvers “with the help of its combat team,” said that the maneuvers took place “a few kilometers from the border with Lebanon,” according to a statement released by the military entity.
“During these manoeuvres, the forces have increased their logistical and operational capabilities in the face of various combat scenarios in enemy territory, located in the north,” the army said, while alarms are growing over the imminent launch of a possible ground operation by Israel.
The manoeuvres were supervised by the Army’s National Ground Training Centre. Israel is thus continuing its campaign of air strikes against Lebanon, which has already left more than 600 dead and several thousand wounded since Monday.
